Born and raised in China, she studied English and French literature at Shanghai International Studies University<\/em> before joining L\u2019Or\u00e9al <\/em>China. She subsequently continued her studies in film and audiovisual media in France at Sorbonne Nouvelle \u2013 Paris 3 University.<\/em><\/p>\n After completing her studies, she gained further experience with several French audiovisual companies and groups, including K\u2019IEN Productions<\/em>, France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions Distribution<\/em> and Lagard\u00e8re Entertainment<\/em>. She then joined an independent distribution company, where she developed the Asia department, before founding no country<\/em> in 2013.<\/p>\n The name no country<\/em> is first and foremost a tribute to the Coen brothers\u2019 cult film No Country for Old Men<\/em>. no country<\/em> also expresses the belief that cultures, of which audiovisual content is a powerful vehicle, have no borders.<\/p>\n Founded to promote audiovisual exchanges between China and other countries, no country<\/em> initially focused on content distribution before gradually developing a documentary production activity. Today, alongside its distribution activities, the company produces documentaries for international audiences, with a focus on distinctive stories that, through a Chinese context, explore universal issues related to history, cultures and social transformation.<\/p>\n In 2024, no country<\/em> produced the ten-part documentary series Pioneers of the Middle Kingdom<\/em>, about French entrepreneurs in China, which was broadcast on TV5MONDE.<\/p>\n In 2026, Li QI founded Beijing Huashenglang Media Co., Ltd.<\/em> (\u5317\u4eac\u82b1\u76db\u5eca\u5f71\u89c6\u4f20\u5a92\u6709\u9650\u516c\u53f8)<\/em> in China, a sister company to no country<\/em>.
